Recently, we have been witnessing a serious memory race in smartphones. But how much RAM do Android phones actually need?
How Much RAM Do Android Phones Need? – Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi or anyone else. Recently, we see that many smartphone manufacturers, regardless of brand, are in a serious memory race. But do you really need that much?
How Much RAM Is Required on Android Phones?
Before answering this question, we’ll take a closer look at how RAMs work on Android devices.
If you are using a computer with a Windows operating system, the more memory the better the system performance. If you think this applies to your smartphone as well, you are somewhat wrong.
Not completely, just a little.
Android is based on the Linux kernel, which runs under a completely different set of rules than Windows-based computers, and an important rule applies to these devices: Free RAM is wasted RAM.
RAM isn’t something you need to think too hard about on most Linux-based devices. No need to clear RAM for installing other apps on Android. This process is already happening automatically and fluently.
Don’t make a statement like ‘Low RAM is Better’ from what we said. Of course too little memory will always be a problem. And of course too much memory isn’t bad either.
While many computers today still come with 8 GB and even 4 GB RAM in some cases, it is not quite understandable to have 12 GB or 16 GB RAM on the smartphone you use. Frankly, this is nothing more than a marketing strategy.
Today, 4 GB of RAM can be considered standard in Android devices . On the other hand, if you want to be ready for everything, 6 GB of RAM will be enough for you.
So you don’t need very large amount of memory. Too much RAM will not change anything in your daily use and will only increase the price you pay for a smartphone. The bad thing, though, is that manufacturers will continue to compete on this, and we’ll continue to see silly amounts of memory.
So how many GB of RAM does your smartphone have? Is this enough for you and are you having problems in daily use? What do you think the ideal amount of memory should be? Do not forget to share your views on this subject with us and our other readers in the comments tab below.
